Adware/Spyware Safe:  

FabulousSavers.com doesn’t make any promises about the screensaver downloads their service provides.

We didn’t receive any adware or spyware with screensavers we downloaded. However, when downloading screensavers (or any program off the Internet), we recommend using anti–virus and anti–spyware software to provide protection against harmful programs that can threaten your computer.

Feature Set:  

FabulousSavers.com has genres and sub–categories of screensavers, and just as many themes and wallpapers. This is one of the only websites we reviewed that provides themes for download and is second only to Scrensavers.com for the overall number of screensavers available, with over 2,000 to choose from.

FabulousSavers.com showcases a nice picture preview of each screensaver and wallpaper that can be enlarged with the click of a mouse. We feel this feature would be even more useful with detailed descriptions to counterpart each of the picture previews.

The search box took some effort to use. Also, a search box on the homepage would be a helpful tool to search FabulousSavers.com

Ease of Use:  

All of the links we tested on FabulousSavers.com worked and once our download was complete, the program automatically pulled up our screensaver setup menu to begin configuration. This makes downloads fast and simple for even novice computer users.

Many screensaver categories are not listed on the FabulousSavers.com homepage. To find a particular theme, we had to select a category and a letter in the alphabet in that category—we felt these extra steps made browsing the site more difficult than it needed to be.

Screensaver Quality:  

FabulousSavers.com doesn’t show or state that they use any sort of screening process on their screensavers desktop themes or wallpapers, so we weren’t surprised when we found a virus in one of the themes we downloaded. In spite of the virus, the majority of the screensavers met our expectations.

This could be a potentially dangerous site if you don’t have security measures (anti-adware program and anti-virus program) in place.

Search Categories:  

FabulousSavers.com splits up their categories into genres and then sub–categories. For example in the cartoon genre you will find 27 sub–categories including: The Simpsons, Animaniacs, Disney and so on. FabulousSavers.com has one of the largest screensaver libraries and the most diverse search categories of all the screensaver service sites we reviewed.

FabulousSavers.com is equipped an informative and offers an easy–to–locate help section as well as email support.

FabulouSsavers.com is one of the better one–stop–shop screensaver services we’ve seen. We enjoyed browsing through FabulousSavers.com’s wide variety of categories and options, which include loads of screensavers, wallpapers, and themes. If you have anti–adware and anti–virus programs in place, then this site’s for you.
