Screen Saver Heaven is a screensaver service site that allows anyone and everyone to post a screensaver. While piloting through its more than 2,500 screensavers and a consistent barrage of popup ads, we felt leery about what would fill our screens next.

For this service, as with all screensaver websites, the fact that youâre going to download some form of adware is definite and there isn’t any guarantee against downloading a computer virus. But on that subject, we’ve found a great deal on anti–virus and anti–spyware software at online retailer Herman Street. Right now you can buy the #1 rated anti-virus program, Bit Defender, and the #1 rated Spyware Eliminator (a $54.90 value) for just $24.95.

Adware/Spyware Safe:  

Screen Saver Heaven requires you to accept adware with each screensaver download—we recommend using anti–virus and anti–spyware software to provide protection against harmful programs that can threaten your computer.

Feature Set:  

Screen Saver Heaven boast it has access to over 2,500 screensavers; though we discovered all of these screensavers are not accessible, it does have the second to largest database of the services we’ve seen.

The quality at Screen Saver Heaven varies from some very nice images to something that looks like a cardboard cutout. Thankfully, you are given the option of previewing every screensaver on the site with a simple click of the mouse.

Ease of Use:  

We found a number of broken links on Screen Saver Heaven while attempting to download several different screensavers. This service expects its users to inform them of such.

Also, we felt the frequent barrage of pop–up ads, for totally unrelated products, was unnecessary and quite aggravating.

Screensaver Quality:  

Screen Saver Heaven has rated each screensaver it offers so you have some idea what to expect. Some screensavers are also accompanied by user reviews.

We found some screensaver downloads to be choppy and others offering poor picture quality.

Search Categories:  

All screensavers on this site are listed alphabetically, so if you donât know the name of the screensaver you’re looking for, it can be difficult to find.

Screen Saver Heaven also offers a “Most Popular” section and a “Newest” section, which is where we found the screensavers we felt were most appealing.

You can contact Screen Saver Heaven via email. We were disappointed that no FAQs or troubleshooting guide is offered.

Summary:  

Due to the considerable number of screensaver links offered by this service, Screen Saver Heaven has trouble keeping up with maintenance. We found it frustrating and a waste of time when we’d come across bad links on this site, not to mention all the popups that would slow us down.
