Screensandthemes.com is a website service and much more. Besides screensavers this service also offers creative cursors, desktop icons and even cooking recipes, but to get to them, you’ll have to battle your way through the onslaught of pop–up ads.

As with any screensaver download site, there isn’t any guarantee that you won’t pick up any adware or computer viruses with the download. We’ve found a great deal on anti–virus and anti–spyware software at online retailer Herman Street. Right now you can buy the #1 rated anti-virus program, Bit Defender, and the #1 rated Spyware Eliminator (a $54.90 value) for just $24.95.

Adware/Spyware Safe:  

Although we found Screensandthemes.com’s downloads to be free of spyware—when downloading Screensandthemes.com screensavers (or any program off the Internet), we recommend using anti–virus and anti–spyware software to protect your computer against harmful programs.

Feature Set:  

Screensandthemes.com offers a number of desktop themes (i.e. cartoon themes, animal themes, sports themes and so on) as well as over 1,000 screensavers. Ease of Use:  

Screensandthemes.com permits an endless stream of popup advertisements to bombard you—needless to say, these popups drastically slow downloading time and we found it nearly impossible to surf their website.

Screensaver Quality:  

Though the quality of screensavers were above average Screensandthemes.com makes no mention of any screening process they have in operation. We weren’t shocked when we encountered a few viruses with our screensaver downloads through this site.

Screensandthemes.com has many of the category listings and the option to search screensavers alphabetically in each of these categories is a handy feature.

Help/Support:  

Screensandthemes.com has an FAQ section and correspondence via email, but they were somewhat hard to find on their website.

Summary:  

Screensandthemes.com has the potential of being a top contender in the free screensaver market with a wide variety of dress–ups for your monitor and even recipes for your kitchen. However, incessant pop–ups and frustrating loading times alienate visitors.
